Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP is predominantly the study of how language and communication impact both our own and other people’s neurology. The essence of NLP, that is, its core components, such as the original meta-model and the modeling processes that build from it, are, in my experience, incredibly powerful tools. They are not only sound and logical but can be easy for a demonstration. How many times have you and a colleague discussed a subject, agreed on the action, and both gone away with totally different concepts of what was to undertake? The meta-model and clear language help to minimize ambiguous communication and make our relationships in business far more efficient and successful. This is just one use of this component.
NLP is not a science or pseudo-science. However, a study was to do about NLP strategies. In particular, the phobia removal strategy, now known as the Visual-Kinesthetic Dissociation Protocol (V/KD), activates a natural process in the brain for updating memory traces that are relevant to the experience of the organism. In other words, updates to memory.
Reality of NLP
Many people have used NLP in their life, and they have gotten better. They have achieved their goals well beyond they would have thought, and Tony Robbins is one example. Yes, he was an NLP trainer in his early days and used to work with Richard Bandler, until there were some issues and he moved on. He continues to use it with his clients, in his seminars, that is another story that it is not to call NLP. However, everything is NLP, in the name of something.
Similarly, many others have been using NLP with their clients, and more importantly, starting with self to get their own goals, gain clarity in their ow
More To Know
Here is a little bit about how it became real in my life and how I tested it. Well, NLP started as a side hustle a decade ago, and I attended a course and continued with a few others to learn more. I started working with people as a Coach, and also started training during weekends. In due course, I was able to see people transform based on the work that I did with them: Top athletes, business executives, entrepreneurs, homemakers, students, people from all walks of life. While I was doing this, I was still working as a sought-after Information Security Leader in IBM Security Services.
After doing this for a few years (5+), I built a team across the globe and training and coaching businesses in various countries. And I think that qualifies as a real result in real life, where I was able to focus on my day job, and also built a business with like-minded people. I continue to work with people as a Coach and a facilitator as a Founder of Vikram Dhar Coaching, and Founder of NLP Coaching Academy.
One of my teachers used to tell me, “If your mind can conceive it and your heart can believe it, you can achieve it!”
